“If the translator neither copies nor restores an original it is because this survives and becomes something else. The translation in fact becomes a moment in its own evolution, and the original is fulfilled even as it grows within the translation.” - Jacques Derrida

“Without translation, we would be living in provinces bordering on silence.” - George Steiner

Translation

Even if we live in a globalized world, it is proven that people do prefer to read content in their own language and are willing to pay more for it. An accurate translation that is actually perceived as a native text is fundamental to enter in new markets but also to consolidate your market share and gain new customers.

My outstanding educational background, focused on law, economics and culture mediation, as well as my work experience allow me to deliver a professional and high quality output. I translate texts belonging to different genres and industries and my fields of expertise are medical, tourism, marketing, economics, and finance. My daily output is around 3000 – 4000 words per day and I am equipped with the most advanced translation technologies to preserve not only the tone and register of your message but also your unique style.

“Translators have to prove to themselves as to others that they are in control of what they do; that they do not just translate well because they have a “flair” for translation, but rather because, like other professionals, they have made a conscious effort to understand various aspects of their work.” - Mona Baker

Localization & Transcreation

90% of data online was generated in the last 2 years, which means that we are in the Era of fast and accessible information. That is the reason why content need to be valuable, unique and eye-catching to make you stand out from the crowd. But what actually helps you make the difference against competitors is creating content that are tailored for your target audience.

My job as localizator consists in going beyond the concept of words and embrace a broader approach that takes into consideration the cultural, legal and political differences in order to create content that are not only culturally sensitive, but that entail a fine attention to details that can be perceived only by native speakers and, of course, trained cultural mediators.

On the other hand, as transcreator I am able to add the proper touch of creativity to translation and shape a text that is more effective and much more attractive to the target audience, thus creating a great difference on how the content is perceived.

"It is the task of the translator to release in his own language that pure language that is under the spell of another, to liberate the language imprisoned in a work in his re-creation of that work." - Walter Benjamin

Post-editing, Revision and QA

Nowadays, an increased number of companies opts for MT to speed up the translation process, however, even the most advanced MT technology is not able to achieve the naturalness of human translation. As certified post-editor, I know where to find the main flaws and errors generated by common MTs and how to correct them quickly and easily, creating a text that is perceived as natural and effective.

Revision and QA are two essential phases of the translation process to check whether the target text meets the requirements specified by the client and it is suitable for the purpose for which it was conceived. My goal is to make sure that text is error-free and retains the same register, tone and style of the source text, with the proper adaptations. In addition, my attention goes to the layout and the formatting to make sure that they adhere to the client expectation.
